CT’s Deli stands for Chef Tom’s Deli. I have been to CT’s Deli on a couple of occasions and I have enjoyed the food they serve. The last time I went I went with my out of town sister. We ordered from the chalkboard menu on the wall near the counter.
We got our drinks and waited for our name to be called.
My sister went to get our food. I ordered the Asian salad. While it was a well made salad full of lots of ingredients there was something in the salad that was very bitter. I could not figure out what it was so I ate the salad and enjoyed the rest of it. I found out it was a certain kind of pepper. The other time I went I ordered a chicken wrap and really liked it. On another occasion I attended an event for work where CT’s Deli catered. We had the pulled pork. It was wonderful. Paired with coleslaw it brought back memories of a restaurant I went to when I lived in Mississippi.
Both times I have visited the restaurant was at lunch times. It was busy but the wait time for your food was very reasonable. It was a little loud but not too loud. The tables are spread apart enough to enjoy a conversation.
There is outdoor seating as well.
The staff is friendly and helpful. While you “bus” your own tables at CT’s Deli the staff often will come around and collect your empty plates. Plasticware and napkins are on the tables along with condiments.
Situated on Brown Street in Rhinelander the restaurant has the look of an old fashion bar from the inside and out.
CT’s Deli is currently expanding to the building next door. I have heard there will be more seating and the bakery will be located there.
May, 2020 Update:
Right now with the COVID-19 virus all restaurants are take out only. I have ordered from CT’s Deli twice in the last month. A few weeks ago I ordered the beef tips with risotto and green beans. It was heavenly! It was their special for the night. Last night I stopped to take pictures and ended up ordering the special again. It was stuffed peppers. It was also wonderful! The specials are between $10 and $12 or more for more expensive foods. I was thinking I went to Hardees and paid almost $9 for room temperature fries and a roast beef sandwich. I asked myself why am I supporting the big chain fast food places when I can support a local restaurant for a couple of dollars more.
The chefs are professionally trained. They also do their own baking. They have a website. It shows their staff and menu. It also lists events happening in the restaurant. One thing CT’s is known for is their fundraising events where they raise funds for local charities such as the homeless shelter.
I would recommend CT’s Deli.
